- SC – Single Crochet
- INC – Increase

Head – White yarn
- Make a magic ring (MR), 6sc into MR (6sts) – do not join to first stitch, carry on working in the round
- Inc in each st x 6 (12sts)
- 1sc, inc x 6 (18sts)
- 2sc, inc x 6 (24sts)
- 3sc, inc x 6 (30sts)
- 4sc, inc x 6 (36sts)
- 5sc, inc x 6 (42sts)
- 42sc x 7 rows
- 5sc, dec x 6 (36sts)
- 4sc, dec x 6 (30sts)
- 3sc, dec x 6 (24sts)
- 2sc, dec x 6 (18sts)
- SS, Fasten off (leaving a long piece of yarn for sewing to body) and stuff with soft toy filling
Snout – White yarn
- Make a magic ring (MR), 6sc into MR (6sts) – do not join to first stitch, carry on working in the round

- Make a magic ring (MR), 4sc into MR (6sts) – do not join to first stitch, carry on working in the round
- Inc in each st x 4 (8sts)

- 12sc x 2 rows
- 1sc, dec x 4 (8sts)

Change colour to white yarn
- 8sc x 5 rows
- SS, Fasten off (leaving a long piece of yarn for sewing to the body)
- Sew to the body
Pepper the Puppy Tail – Brown yarn
- Make a magic ring (MR), 4sc into MR (6sts) – do not join to first stitch, carry on working in the round
- 6sc x 5 rows
Change colour to white yarn
- 6sc x 5 rows
- SS, Fasten off (leaving a long piece of yarn for sewing to the body)
- Sew to the body
Sew eyes and nose on to face.
Attach keyring to top of head.
