Created by ©BeejuiCreations 2018-2022
Free 3D Layered Giraffe – SVG File. This is a great little layered card stock project to create with an easy to follow photo tutorial below.
Why not try this layered project out on your Cricut. You could add in your own quotes or personalise with a name and frame it in a shadow box. Perfect gift for a new baby/child’s bedroom or this could even be made into a cake topper.

I have created this project because I love all the layered projects all over the internet at the moment that can be made on your Cricut. I’ve only just started designing my own SVG’s so please let me know if there are any issues with these files.

To make this project you will need:
- Cricut Maker – Shop Cricut
- Cricut design space – Cricut Design Space™
- Free 3D Layered Giraffe – SVG File (link below)
- Card Stock
- Yellow – 1 Sheet Gold Coloured Paper Pad 24 Pack from Hobbycraft
- Brown – 1 Sheet Gold Coloured Paper Pad 24 Pack from Hobbycraft
- White – 1 Sheet Hobbycraft white card
- Black – 1 Sheet Hobbycraft black card
- Blue Light Grip Cricut Mat –
- I used the blue light grip mat for all the layers.

For a flat look, use adhesive spray or glue stick
- Adhesive
- Glue Pen – Hobbycraft Ultrastick glue pen
For the 3D look, use foam pads in between the layers and the above glue pen.
- Adhesive Foam Pads
- 3D Adhesive Foam Pads: Hobbycraft white foam pads
(NOTE: Hide the foam pads under each layer by using small foam pads or cutting them to size so you can’t see them).
Settings:
Cricut settings
- Resize the SVG to fit the paper you are using or move the pieces in design space to make sure they all fit on the card stock. I resized this project to 13.945cm width by 20cm height to get it to fit all on an A4 sheet.
- The material setting for all the card layers
- MEDIUM CARDSTOCK (80lb / 216GSM) – DEFAULT PRESSURE
NOTE: All machines are different and there may be better settings but these are the ones that have worked for me.
Reorganise the brown cardstock layer within Design Space to make sure it all fits on one sheet.

For the Free 3D Layered Giraffe, cut all the layers out on a Cricut Maker. Shop our cutting machine collection at Cricut.com
Once all the layers are cut, arrange them as below:

First Section
- Apply self-adhesive foam pads to the back of Giraffe Layer 2 and apply centrally to Giraffe Layer 1. (I found it easier for positioning to align the ears and horns together).

- Using the glue pen, adhere Giraffe Layer – Tail onto Giraffe Layer 3.

These are amazing!! Is there a reason they can’t be cut with the Air 3?
Hi Belinda
I’m not sure as I have never used the Air 3, I use the Maker. Does it use a different file format other than SVGs? Or try adjusting the size of the SVG? I’ll have a look and see what I can find out and let you know.
Kind regards

Hi. I think your svgs are so cute! I had a question about the tiger and giraffe. When I uploaded the files everything cut perfectly, but I did not receive the files for the eyes. What can I do to fix this? They are for my son’s 7th birthday. I am new to the Cricut scene and I have no idea how to go about making eyes from scratch. Any words of wisdom my fellow crafters?
Hi, I have been made aware of an issue with the eyes not transferring over with the giraffe file since Cricut’s update. I have added a link to my Cricut file which includes the eyes, this should take you straight to the design file. https://design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/607ed842969edb0d9cffdc7f
Let me know if you have any issues and I’ll try my best to fix this.
Happy Crafting! xx
