3D Pastel Layered Flower – Free SVG File – a great little layered card stock project to create.

Why not try this layered project out on your Cricut. You could add in your own quotes and frame it in a lovely shadow box for a gift for a loved one / someone special.

3D Pastel Layered Flower - Free SVG File

I’ve created this project because I love all the layered projects all over the internet at the moment that can be made on your Cricut. I’ve only just started creating my own SVG’s.

Please let me know if there are any issues.

To make this project you will need:

For a flat look, use adhesive spray or glue stick instead

  • Optional – Adhesive Spray (if using)

(NOTE: Open the window and cover your workspace, this spray smells really strong and even though I had a A3 pad covering my workspace it still got everywhere lol).

The adhesive spray that I used is not showing online but I bought from Hobbycraft and it was called ‘Permanent Adhesive Spray 200ml’

(I am not affiliated with hobbycraft, I just love their stuff lol)

For the 3D look, use foam pads in between the layers.

(NOTE: try to hide the foam pads under each layer by cutting them to size so you can’t see them).

Settings:

Cricut settings

  • Resize the SVG to fit the paper you are using
    • Settings for A4: 10cm x 13.923cm
  • The material setting for the card layers
    • LIGHT CARDSTOCK – MORE pressure
  • The material setting for the glitter card layers
    • MEDIUM CARDSTOCK – DEFAULT pressure

NOTE: there may be better settings but these are the ones that worked for me.

Please note this has only been tested by myself on Cricut Design Space and Affinity Designer. I cannot guarantee that you will not have any issues when using this SVG on other apps / software.

Make it

Glitter and Pink Flower

For the glitter and pink flower I cut alternate layers of light pink and glitter. I found it helped to change the colours of each layer in Cricut Design Space.

Once all layers are cut, I arranged the layers in order and glued each 2 layers together i.e. the two green layers together, then a glitter layer onto the next size up pink layer. You should end up with 1 green layer and 4 pink / glitter layers.

Next, in between each of the glued pieces I used adhesive foam pads and fixed all the layers together.

Hint: make sure you adhere all layers centrally as you go.

I hope you have enjoyed this creating your very own 3D Pastel Layered Flower. If you need any further guidance please contact me at Beejui Creations

I purchased the SVG for this Lotus Flower Woman Mandala from DesignBundles.net. It was in a bundle of 10 different designs. Here is the link:

Materials:

I always customise my projects before going ahead and making them. I like to play around with the colours and layers to see what it will look like before I commit. As you can see below I changed the colours for each layer in customiser to match what colour card I wanted to use. It helps to try and find a colour in design space as close as a match to the colour card stock you are using.

Once you turn each layer into the colour you want you will see that all your mats will be colour coded for easy reference when making your project.

On design space my mats loaded up like this:

Cricut Layer 1
Cricut – Layer 1
Cricut Layers 2
Cricut Layers 2

Lotus Flower Woman Mandala – Settings and Materials I used for this project:

Mat 1

  • Materials: Self-adhesive vinyl and transfer tape – First Edition Adhesive Gloss Vinyl | 12 Colours | 52 inc 4 Transfer Tape Sheets from Amazon
  • Colour: Light purple (this I set to white because I didn’t want to confuse my machine with the light purple card on mat 5)
  • Mat: Blue LightGrip
  • Cricut material setting: Premium vinyl setting
  • Average Cut time – 12 mins
  • Average Weeding time – 16 mins

Mat 2

  • Materials: 250gsm Card stock from B&M Hobby World A4 Card 20pk – Silver
  • Colour: Silver
  • Mat: Green StandardGrip
  • Cricut material setting: Heavy Card stock – 270gsm (it struggled to cut all the way through on this setting, I may try adding more pressure next time)
  • Average Cut time – less than a minute

Mat 3

Mat 4

Mat 5

NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE HEAD PART TO ALL LAYERS EXCEPT THE SILVER LAYER

Lotus Flower Woman Mandala - Layered - Head
I nearly lost her head and my own after realising I’d threw her head away with the scrap!

Lotus Flower Woman Mandala – Assemble

I used a glue stick to layer all the pieces together, except the top vinyl layer.

NOTE: I am off to purchase a glue pen and mounting spray because those glue sticks are messy lol!

Bottom layer – Mat 2 Silver card stock

2nd layer – Mat 5 Light purple card stock

3rd layer – Mat 4 Dark purple card stock

4th layer – Mat 3 Dark blue card stock

5th layer – Mat 1 Light purple self adhesive vinyl

This project took me approximately a hour to create start to finish.

Floral 3D Dream Catcher – Layered SVG Link

Floral 3D Dream Catcher

Floral 3D Dream Catcher – Layered SVG Link. Another great mandala project. This was a really fun project, I really enjoyed making this for my craft room.

I love how this turned out in black & white.

Floral 3D Dream Catcher - Layered SVG Link

To make this Floral 3D Dream Catcher – Layered SVG project

You will need:

Cricut MakerShop Cricut

Cricut Design SpaceCricut Design Space™

2 sheets of black cardstock

2 sheets of white cardstock

Self Adhesive Vinyl – 1 sheet of black and 1 sheet of white vinyl

I used the white and black vinyl sheets in this pack from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WGVPC1L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I find that the very top layer has very small intricate cuts and the foam pads/glue is hard work to get it to adhere. So you can either cut out of card and spray glue the top layer on to the layer below or use the self adhesive vinyl.

Adhesive Spray and / or adhesive foam pads

I used adhesive spray for this project. All layers except the very top layers which I have used self adhesive vinyl on. This gives a flat kind of look to the project.

If you want a more 3D look use foam pads in between the layers. (NOTE: try to hide the foam pads under each layer by cutting them to size so you can’t see them).

Blue Light Grip Cricut Mat

I used the blue light grip mat for all the layers.

Floral 3D Dream Catcher SVG

I used this purchased SVG file from https://designbundles.net/ :

Floral 3D Dream Catcher - Layered SVG Link
Floral 3D Dream Catcher – Layered SVG Link

Floral 3D Dream Catcher Notes:

There is 6 layers to this project.

I chose to glue the bottom 2 layers of both the larger and smaller cardstock pieces together and used the self adhesive vinyl to make the detailed top pieces. I then put adhesive foam pads in between these layers for a 3D effect.

Next time I make this project I think I will add foam pads to most of the layers and see what it looks like then. I might even bling it up a bit with some glitter card stock and see how it turns out.

Floral 3D Dream Catcher - Layered SVG Link

Floral 3D Dream Catcher Cricut Settings:

You may have to adjust the SVG to fit the paper you have.

Material setting for the self adhesive vinyl – PREMIUM VINYL

Material setting for the other layers – LIGHT CARDSTOCK – 60lb (163gsm)

NOTE: there may be better settings but these are the ones that worked for me.

Shamrock Granny Square Crochet – Pattern Link

Shamrock Granny Square Crochet

Shamrock Granny Square Crochet – Pattern Link. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!. Create this great little project to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th.

Shamrock Granny Square Crochet - Pattern Link

Here’s a bit of general knowledge about St. Patrick’s Day, if you fancy reading it!

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated all over the world on the 17th March each year to mark the anniversary of St. Patrick’s death (Patron saint of Ireland). This information was found from www.history.com

St. Patrick’s Day observes of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The holiday has evolved into a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.

Anyway, enough of the history lesson! Let’s get on with the Shamrock Granny Square Crochet project.

Carrying on with the St. Patrick’s Day theme from a couple of weeks ago where I made the Shamrock Crochet Brooch Pattern – Free Link. I took the inspiration from this to make a solid granny square to celebrate this theme.

Process

Create your granny square and brooch from the pattern links above.

Attach the four leaf clover brooch to the centre of each granny square and add an extra row around outside edge of granny square.

Make as many as you need and swap the contrasting colours, like I have done. These could be turned into a blanket or table runner, you decide.

Crochet Poppy Brooch Pattern – Free Links. A friend suggested I make a crochet poppy, never one to not accept a challenge, so I did!

Brooch clasp

These are a couple of free patterns I found but I prefer the more natural looking flowers, so I used the pattern for the poppy from the headband.  Link below:

https://kirstenhollowaydesigns.com/2017/08/poppy-flower-free-crochet-headband-pattern.html/amp

I switched the yellow yarn for black (no yellow yarn in my bag of tricks!).

Process

Create your brooch from the poppy pattern link above.

Tidy brooch up by sewing in the loose ends and attach the brooch clasp to the back of the crocheted poppy.

Crochet Poppy Brooch
Crochet Poppy Brooch

It crocheted up quite quickly and I loved the leaf design.  The pattern was quite easy to follow too.

These could be turned into brooches, button holes, handbag and hair accessories or added to blankets, scarves, cushions …. endless ideas!

Next time I might try adding a black button or bead in the middle.

I hope you have enjoyed making your very own Poppy Crochet Brooch.  If you need any further guidance please contact me at Beejui Creations
