3D Layered Monkey SVG – Free File & Tutorial. This is a great little layered card stock project to create with an easy to follow photo tutorial below.

Why not try this layered project out on your Cricut. You could add in your own quotes or personalise with a name and frame it in a shadow box. Perfect gift for a new baby/child’s bedroom or this could even be made into a cake topper.

For a flat look, use adhesive spray or glue stick

For the 3D look, use foam pads in between the layers and the above glue pen.

(NOTE: Hide the foam pads under each layer by using small foam pads or cutting them to size so you can’t see them).

Settings:

Cricut settings

  • Resize the SVG within Design Space to fit the paper you are using or move the pieces in edit mat to make sure they all fit on the card stock. I resized this project to 13.01cm width by 15cm height to get it to fit all on the project I’m making this for.
  • The material setting for all the card layers
    • MEDIUM CARDSTOCK (80lb / 216GSM) – DEFAULT PRESSURE

NOTE: All machines are different and there may be better settings but these are the ones that have worked for me.

See below for the tutorial

3D Layered Monkey Tutorial

For the Free 3D Layered Monkey, cut all the layers out on a Cricut Maker. Shop our cutting machine collection at Cricut.com

Once all the layers are cut, arrange them as below:

First Section

  • Apply self-adhesive foam pads to the back of Monkey Layer 2 and apply centrally to Monkey Layer 1. (I found it easier for positioning to align the ears and hair tuft together first).

See the image below for placement:

Second Section

  • Apply self-adhesive foam pads to the back of Monkey Layer 3 and apply centrally to Monkey Layer 2 (which is already adhered to Monkey Layer 1).

See the image below for placement:

Third Section

  • Apply self-adhesive foam pads to the back of Monkey Layer 4 and apply centrally to Monkey Layer 3 (which is already adhered to Monkey Layers 1 & 2).

See the image below for placement:

Fourth Section

  • Using the glue pen, adhere the black pupils to the white eyes. (Monkey Layer – Eyes). (I placed the pupil centrally on the bottom edge of the white eye piece).
  • Using the glue pen, adhere the eyes and nose to the Monkey Layer – Face.

Cheeky Monkey Crochet Pattern – Free Pattern Link

Cheeky Monkey Crochet Pattern – Free Pattern Link

Cheeky Monkey Crochet Pattern – Free Pattern Link. Meet the new addition – My Cheeky Little Monkey!

Finally, I got around to making something other than unicorns.  This was made for a friends little boy.

This monkey makes a lovely addition to my ever increasing little crochet animal family. It fits in perfectly with my other crochet elephants and giraffes.

This would also make a beautiful gift for someone special to cherish forever.

This pattern is easy to follow and I had so much fun creating this project. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Materials I used on this project:

I used a 3.5mm crochet hook, but you could probably get away with using a 4mm.

The yarn I used –

I used approximately 50g of both the Dark Brown and Mocha. Only a small amount of the black yarn is required.

The best soft toy filling I have found is from Hobbycraft. It’s usually on offer, so the more you buy the cheaper the price – https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/soft-toy-filling-200g/630191-1000?_br_psugg_q=soft+toy+stuffing.

The ribbon I used is from Hobbycraft: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/black-made-with-love-cotton-ribbon-15mm-x-5m/594338-1000
