This standing unicorn measures approximately 11” tall by 8” wide by 3” deep.

Sleepy Lavender Crochet Unicorn – Free Pattern Link

Sleepy Lavender Crochet Unicorn

Sleepy Lavender Crochet Unicorn – Free Pattern Link. This was a custom make for a friend who wanted a gift for a little girl who loves unicorns but doesn’t sleep very well.  It was my friend who came up with the idea of putting a lavender sachet inside the unicorn.

It was based on this cute pattern from:

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hope-the-baby-unicorn-amigurumi

I made the legs longer by adding in extra rows and made curly cues for the mane and tail.

For unicorn horn detail: Using silver embroidery thread, I secured it at the bottom of the unicorns horn and wrapped it around the whole of the horn tightly until I reached the top.  I knotted the thread then put needle through the middle of the horn and fastened thread off securely at the bottom.

Curly cue tutorial:

The lavender sachet was made using dried lavender buds with a few drops of lavender essential oil. All sewn into a little sachet.  This measured approximately 3” by 2”.  I put this inside the main body part and surrounded it with soft toy filling before finishing the body.

It smells absolutely lovely!  I hope it helps the little girl have sweet dreams.

Crochet Unicorn Keyring

After the success with making the Cute Crochet Unicorn soft toy, I had numerous requests to make a keyring.

Challenge accepted!

I had to make the original version smaller and more durable. So I tweaked the pattern and made it on a smaller hook. I made longer legs so that it looked like it was sitting and stitched them to the body so it gave a more solid piece.

Nothing worse than a keyring accessory that doesn’t stand up to being thrown in a handbag with all that crap …..

I will be making them in other colours, so I will post pictures when they are done.

See you soon

xx

Unicorn Free Crochet Pattern – Link

Unicorn Free Crochet Pattern – Link. I’ve been in a very unusual girly, cute mood these past few days.  For anyone that knows me this is definitely a rare occurrence! So to make the most of it I crocheted this cute little cuddly unicorn.

This pattern is easy to follow and I had so much fun creating this project. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This unicorn makes a lovely addition to my ever increasing little crochet animal family.

This would also make a beautiful gift for someone special to cherish forever.

Unicorn Front
Unicorn Front

Materials I used on this project:

I used a 3.5mm crochet hook, but you could probably get away with using a 4mm.

The yarn I used is Stylecraft Special DK –

  • White – Stylecraft Special DK yarn
  • Candyfloss – Stylecraft Special DK yarn
  • Spring Green – Stylecraft Special DK yarn
  • Cloud Blue – Stylecraft Special DK yarn
  • Black – Stylecraft Special DK yarn

I used approximately 50g of White and small amounts of Candyfloss, Spring Green, Cloud Blue and Black yarn.

The best soft toy filling I have found is from Hobbycraft. It’s usually on offer, so the more you buy the cheaper the price – https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/soft-toy-filling-200g/630191-1000?_br_psugg_q=soft+toy+stuffing

Note: I found that the ears were too big for my liking, so I shortened them slightly by removing a couple of the rows. I then made curly cues for mane and tail.

If you don’t know how to crochet these adorable curly cues, this link is a great tutorial:

I also made a small bow and attached it to the top of the tail.
